Every year, a few hundred thousand spectators and more than 30,000 camels travel to the desert region of Al-Dahnaa for the festival, about 90 minutes south from Riyadh, the Saudi capital.

The camel beauty contest is the high point of the month-long festival, a spectacle where beauty, tradition and tremendous wealth combine.
